This Hot Mat is beautifully woven our of the stem of a banana leaf, which is cut into thin strips or 'Obukedo'. These are dried, coiled and boundto one another using raffia (buso). Rafia comes from the raffia palm (Bibbo) which grows near the shores of Lake Victoria and has long leaves that can reach 60 foot in length. Raffia is the part of the newly shooting palm leave that holds the leafe together before it opens.

Each mat is approximately 29cm diameter, as these are hand woven sizes, colours and patterns vary.

Use this 'Hot Mat' to protect your dining table when serving hot dishes.

To clean use a soft sponge and a tiny bit of water.
